This "Dual T" Handled shifter is the best "economical" shifter avaiable, and there are models for Sedans, Busses, Ghias, and T-3s. It was introduced in the mid-late 80s. They have a teflon ball and cradle with a heat-treated shifter ball and shaft, trigger-released reverse lockout, a stamped lip on the shifter base to retain the shifter boot, and a triple-chrome plated shaft and handle. Choose application.
These shifters have a handle with a very comfortable contoured finger grip. The shift pattern is TIGHT. It utilizes a spring to "push" the shifter into the 3/4 gear position. This means you have to overcome the spring to shift into first and second gears, and it helps prevent shifting into first when you are trying to shift quickly into third! The 2nd trigger is used to go into reverse, instead of the "push-down" procedure on the stock shifter. It is important to note that Dragfast shifters are already short throw, and you do not and CAN NOT use a quick shift kit with them. Just install them as-is! Berg shifters are still the best shifters made, but the prices have gotten out of control in our opinion. ORIGINAL Hurst shifters are also good if you can find one (not the Taiwan "Hurst" copies).
