These spacers go between the engine case and the cylinder, and increase deck height (distance from top of piston to cylinder head). Assemble your engine, then use our calculator (in our tech section) to figure out what deck you need to run the compression you want, and subtract what you have from that, and then order that size spacer in the cylinder size you have. Price for 4 spacers to do one engine.
WARNING: these are not high end spacers (which cost around $60/4), and you MUST CHECK their thickness, we have seen sets vary up to .005", which could be a problem if you assembled the engine that way! You can stack shims if you want, but ideally you would get these, or have RIMCO make some custom for you. An example: a ".040" shim may measure out to .037". You MUST DEBURR them first. Because they are stamped, the edges get "hairs" on them that will screw things up if you don't clean them up first. This takes 3 minutes with a bench grinder or belt sander, just removing the hairs. Just do not expect (with success) to take them out of the package and put them on the barrel and bolt them up! Spend 5 minutes and do it right! After you de-burr, measure them to make sure they are all the same, and THEN you can proceed.
